Belleville, Quinte West and Hastings County are looking at ways to ensure that job seekers are joined up with local employers.
Manager of Economic Development Karen Poste told the Quinte Economic Development Commission Tuesday the idea is to hook up the companies with Hastings-Quinte social services to ensure as many people as possible are aware of the job opportunities.
Poste says many companies are “really struggling” to find workers. She said the idea was to clear up “the lack of communication between the county and the employers.”
Meanwhile, she said, the province has provided funding for an update of the two-year old Immigration Portal website which lists jobs in the area.
Poste pointed out statistics show the use of the immigration website is growing.
