The Bay of Quinte High School Football season kicked off yesterday.
In the Senior game the St. Theresa Titans defeated the Trenton Tigers 28-6. Chase Goodfellow had Trenton’s touchdown. Details for St. Theresa were not available.
The Bayside Junior Red Devils scored a 30-0 victory over Trenton High. Xavier Nickerson, Dawson Brown, Anthony Kessel and Brock Leaver scored for Bayside.
Today (Fri) the Eastside Secondary Ravens play a senior-junior doubleheader at Centennial beginning at 1pm.
In girls high school senior basketball the Prince Edward Collegiate Panthers defeated the East Northumberland Blue Dragons 71-22.
The PECI Jr.s followed with a 71-22 victory over ENSS.
Jamal Owens was the star of the day in high school senior boys soccer scoring 4 times in St. Theresa’s 8-3 victory over the Trenton Tigers. Peyton Dagenais added a pair for the Titans with Alex Young scoring twice for Trenton High.
Bayside blitzed St. Paul 3-nil. Ryan Loiselle and Ryan Houlden shared the clean sheet.
The Prince Edward Collegiate Panthers downed the Eastside Secondary Ravens 6-1. Joey Monroe and Matthew Stevenson scored twice.
In boys junior soccer Stamati Sakellis scored two to lead Eastside Secondary over Prince Edward Collegiate 4-2.
And the perennial power house Trenton Tigers defeated East Northumberland 25-20 in a Bay of Quinte High School junior rugby match.
The equally powerful Bayside Red Devils hammered North Hastings 37-0.
