It’s never too early to think about Christmas and Belleville is doing just that – on the lookout for Christmas trees.
As part of its annual Christmas lighting program, the city is looking for large Christmas trees.
Manager of Parks Larry Glover says the idea is to have a resident or business donate the trees to be placed at different locations around the city.
#1 TREE
Glover says they are looking for well-formed blue spruce or white spruce about 24-feet tall.
City staff will review the tree to ensure it’s suitable
The city will remove the tree from the private property and transport it, at no cost to the landowner.
Glover noted, “Tree removal equipment will be required to access the tree so trees on a side street or in the side yard are usually the most suitable for this purpose.”
And after Christmas it will be put to good use.
