Public health officials serving Northumberland County are reminding pet owners about the danger of rabies and the need for anti-rabies vaccinations.
Annual low-cost rabies vaccination clinics are organized each fall with local veterinarians in partnership with the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge health unit.
Public health inspector Bruce Barthorpe says the rabies vaccination is an important part of caring for the pet.

Barthorpe emphasizes rabies is as deadly for humans as it is for animals.
