Belleville native Anthony Popovich has been invited to the main training camp of the Dallas Stars.
After slipping through the NHL Draft in June Dallas invited the 19 year old goaltender of the Guelph Storm to their Development Camp this summer.
Popovich is a graduate of the Quinte Red Devils and the Wellington Dukes. He played in 60 of Guelph’s 68 games last season posting a 3.44 goals against average with a .902 save percentage. Popovich led the Storm to a near upset of the Kitchener Rangers in the first round of the OHL playoffs. Popovich still has one year of junior eligibility remaining.
