After months of work meeting with hundreds of possible new doctors, the Quinte West Physician Recruitment and Retention Committee has got its first commitment.
At Monday’s council meeting committee members officially introduced Dr. Ian Spreadbury, who is in his fourth year of med school at McGill University in Montreal and is expecting to begin practicing in the city in 2021.
Dr. Spreadbury is a native of Salisbury England and also spent nine years as a research assistant at Queen’s University.
He says he’s extremely excited to come back to Eastern Ontario to set up his practice.
Aside from the signing of Dr. Spreadbury, the doctor recruitment committee continues to actively speak with 38 prospects in various stages of their doctoral careers.
