A virus scare has suspended all visits at Millhaven Institution’s Regional Treatment Centre until further notice.
According to Correctional Services Canada, several inmates showed symptoms of Gastroenteritis virus, which is inflammation of the stomach and intestines, typically resulting from bacterial toxins or viral infection and causing vomiting and diarrhea.
Correctional Services Canada is working with health authorities to resolve the situation as soon as possible.
