It will be a battle of the excavators for the South Hastings Baseball League Championship.
In their first year in the South Hastings Baseball League, the Bain Excavating Rockies defeated Uens Pole Line 7-6 to advance to the final round against Melrose Farrell Excavating Shamrocks. Bain won the series 4 games to 1.
Ben Popovich and Cody Maracle shared the win on the mound while John McHugh and A.J. Burlington hit home runs.
Game 1 in the best of 7 final for the Thornton Portt Memorial Trophy will either be this Sunday or Tuesday September 18th in Melrose.
