The games don’t count yet but the Wellington Dukes are already showing that they’re ready to defend their Ontario Junior Hockey League championship.
The Dukes rallied back from a 2-0 second period deficit to double the Trenton Golden Hawks 4-2 last night.
Frank Vitucci, Keenan Eddy, Nick Abbott and Elijah Gonsalves scored for Wellington. Steven Elliott and Paul O’Doherty for Trenton. The Dukes are 3-0. They close out their pre-season schedule tomorrow night when they host Cobourg. That will be a preview of the season opener on Friday September 7th at the Lehigh Arena.
The Golden Hawks are 2-2-1. They’re in Kingston tonight in the front end of a home at home series. The Voyageurs return the trip tomorrow. Trenton opens their regular season schedule on Friday September 14th at the Dunc McDonald Community Cenre.
