With the municipal election getting closer by the day, there are first reports of election signs being torn down.
There have been a number of instances in Tweed of damage to election signs, and other signs, throughout the town.
Mayor Jo-Anne Albert tells Quinte News theĀ first damage was done Sunday and Monday.
Albert says all the election signs at the south end of Tweed have been damaged, torn up and thrown around.
Then, on Wednesday night, there was a great deal of graffiti tagging on buildings throughout the town.
Officials have contacted the OPP on the issue.
Albert says there should be more patrols through town by the police.
