Plans are moving ahead for an upgrade to one of Belleville’s parks with a picnic shelter and landscaping.
Earlier this summer, city council agreed to a Medigas Celebrity Classic project proposal to build a picnic shelter at West Riverside Park, on the Moira River, on a 50-50 basis with the city.
The city put $75,000 in the budget…setting the total at $150,000.
This week the council awarded the contract to Parkside Landscaping for the shelter and landscaping.
The work is expected to be completed in early November.
