UPDATE @ 2:30 p.m. August 16: Belleville Police have given an update on a six-car pile up on Old Highway 2 Wednesday night.
It happened just west of Burns Drive around 6:00 p.m. in wet conditions.
Belleville Police Constable Brad Stitt says two people who were taken to Kingston General Hospital with serious injuries have been released, while the other six people with less serious injuries were also released, from hospitals in Belleville and Napanee.
Stitt says the investigation is continuing and the members of the Traffic Safety Unit are asking anyone who might have seen the crash, or possibly have dash camera footage of the incident, to contact them.
There was a multi-vehicle collision on Old Highway 2 in east end Belleville Wednesday evening.
Belleville police report six vehicles collided just west of Burns Drive at around 6 o’clock.
Eight people were taken to hospital, with two of them being transferred to hospital in Kingston with more serious injuries.
None of the injuries are believed to be life threatening.
The collisions took place in wet conditions.
Belleville police are asking anyone with information to call them and are asking anyone with dash-cam footage of that stretch of the highway around 6 p.m., even if it isn’t of the accident itself, to give them a call.
