As the doors get set to lock for good at Quinte Secondary School, its principal had one more duty, to present an $8,000 cheque to the Hastings and Prince Edward Learning Foundation.
Liane Woodley called it a fitting way to put a “positive spin on something that’s been somewhat negative”.
She tells Quinte News, the money was raised during the school’s recent ‘Weekend To Remember’ school closing festivities.
The learning foundation’s Meribeth deSnoo says this year 455 students benefited from various programs that help them overcome barriers and succeed in school, 100 more students than in 2016/17.
