Belleville’s downtown was a messy and chaotic scene Saturday evening.
A three vehicle collision stalled traffic at Bridge and Pinnacle Streets shortly after 6:00 p.m. for about an hour. A westbound vehicle on Bridge Street collided with a southbound vehicle on Pinnacle Street within the intersection. Both of those vehicles then crashed into another vehicle which was stopped in the eastbound lane of Bridge Street.
Belleville Police determined through witnesses that the southbound vehicle entered the intersection against the red light and the driver was subsequently charged with disobeying a red light.
Fortunately, there were no injuries reported at the time of the accident.
