They matched up against the best in Ontario and proved they were better.
Nate St. Romain of Nicholson Catholic College and Sam Hall from East Northumberland Secondary won gold medals at the Ontario High School Track and Field championships at York University. St. Romain finished first in the Senior Boys’ 400 while Hall won gold in the Senior High Jump. Hall was also a member of East Northumberland’s silver medal winning 4 x 100 relay team which includes Jared Hall, Ben Snider and Reese Herrington.
Also reaching the OFSAA podium were silver medalist Olivia Onuah of St. Theresa in the Jr. Girls’ Shot Put and Caden Deery of St. Paul winning bronze in the 300 metre hurdles.
Nicholson Jr. Rory McGarvey was 4th in the 3000 metre, Jared Hall of ENSS finished 5th in the senior long jump while Tori Tees of Trenton High and Jared Milligan of ENSS were 6th in the Jr. High Jump and Midget Triple Jump respectively.
