It appears that the student population is aligned with the rest of the area, but not the rest of the province, when it comes to their vote in the 2018 provincial election.
Students in the Bay of Quinte riding gave the slight edge to PC Candidate Todd Smith. He beat Joanne Belanger and the NDPs, with a slim 35% to 34% win.
In the Hastings Lennox and Addington riding, Daryl Kramp and the PCs beat out Nate Smelle and the NDPs with just over 40% of the vote.
Finally, 35% of the student vote in the Northumberland-Peterborough South riding went to PC David Piccini. Coming in second was Jana Papuckoski and the NDPs with 24.5%.
The NDP did take the Student Votes 2018 election, getting 65 seats, the PC Party at 45, and the Liberals 11.
