The Trenton Golden Hawks appear to be rounding out their coaching staff for the upcoming 2018-19 season.
Although nothing concrete has been confirmed by the Trenton Golden Hawks, Colin Birkas will be joining the coaching staff as as Assistant.
He has a wealth of experience coaching in junior hockey, most recently as a Scout for the Brooks Bandits. He was also a head coach in the AJHL for the Calgary Canucks.
Prior to his time out west, Birkas was the bench boss for the Brockville Braves of the CCHL, and before that, he spent four years with the Kingston Voyageurs in the OJHL.
Meantime, Justin Peca is also to be named an Assistant Coach with the team.
Peca was a longtime player, with time in the NCAA (Michigan Tech), the ECHL, the German, and Italian pro leagues.
His latest coaching job was as an Assistant Coach for the Brampton Beast of the ECHL (affiliated with the Belleville Senators).
Peca was also a Coach/GM with the Villanova Knights and Streetsville Derbys in Ontario junior ranks.
Thomas Milne is the Head Coach and General Manager.
A confirmation of the assistants is expected in the coming days.
