A 40 save effort by goaltender Jonah Capriotti would not be enough for the Wellington Dukes.
The host Chilliwack Chiefs skunked the Dukes 2-0 to move into second place at the RBC Cup National Junior “A” Hockey championships.
Daniel Chenard turned away 26 shots for the shutout in a game that featured 19 power plays on 90 penalty minutes. Wellington was 0 for 10 with the man advantage.
The loss leaves Welliongton in 4th place with 3 points. Their final game of the round robin is tomorrow afternoon (Thursday) against the first place Wenatchee Washington Wild.
