Plans are moving ahead on a pilot program to coordinate ambulance services better in Hastings -Quinte and Peterborough areas.
The issue is that the dispatch centres in Peterborough and Kingston cannot see ambulances that might be available and closer to the boundaries.
Chief of Paramedic Services for Hastings-Quinte Doug Socha told the Emergency Services committee Wednesday that equipment and resources have been put in place and and interactive maps will display all available ambulances.
Socha says the next step will be to install final hardware in the dispatch centres at Kingston and Peterborough, and develop a training package.
