For the second time in as many weeks a Bellevillian has been named Captain of an NCAA hockey team.
Twenty-two-year-old Abbott Girduckis will be the co-captain of the Rochester Institute of Technology Tigers of the Division 1 Atlantic Hockey Conference.
The Quinte Red Devils graduate spent 3 seasons with the Wellington Dukes. He has just completed his third year at RIT where he had his best year offensively with 7 goals and 27 points in 37 games as a junior.
Girduckis is a science major at RIT and was named to the Atlantic Hockey All-Academic Team last year.
Two weeks ago Belleville’s Cassidy Vinkle was named Captain of the Clarkson University Golden Knights Women’s hockey team.
