There could be educational courses of a different kind being offered in the Municipality of Brighton in the next while.
At its meeting Monday night, councillors Martinello and Baker will make a motion that staff set up a course in “sandbag filling” and
canvass for volunteers for training and to also create an “on call” list in case of flooding.
Municipal staff and residents had to scramble to deal with flooding issues during the unusually wet spring last year, as did other communities.
The motion asks that staff have the list ready by next month.
