Five local hockey players were invited to participate in the “Under 15 Worlds Select Invitational Girls Hockey Tournament” in Bolzano Italy.
There were five teams from North America with Canadians and Americans on each of them. There were also teams from Finland, Sweden, Russia and host Italy.
Emily Moore of Tweed and goaltender Cassidy Dobson of Belleville played for” DHI Octane” which won the silver medal.
The team known as “Draftday” included Taryn Rathwell and Lilia Brown of Belleville and Abbie Hicks of Wooler.
The players were recruited from club teams by the resepctive coaches.
