The Prince Edward Learning Foundation has received a delicious donation from the people of Prince Edward County.
Mayor Robert Quaiff presented a cheque for just over $4,000 this morning to the Food For Learning Program, from the Feed the Meter Campaign.
The campaign typically runs through the holidays with any change dropped into parking meters donated to the program, but this year The County decided to extend the program to March.
In Ferbuary, the City of Quinte West donated almost $8,500 and the City of Belleville about $13,000 from their respective campaigns.
That brings the total donated by all three municipalities to about $25,500.
The Food for Learning program helps to provide over one million meals and snacks to students across the Quinte Region each year.
