Coach John Druce didn’t like his teams’ start but he had to love the ending. Goaltender Jonah Capriotti stopped 17 shots in the first period and 36 in all as the Wellington Dukes drubbed Georgetown 6-1 to go up 2-0 in the OJHL championship round.
Bryce Yettman with 3 and has 10 in the post season. Napanee’s Nelson Powers scored his first playoff goal.
Druce didn’t expect that kind of a decisive outcome after the Dukes got off to a slow start in the first period.
Teddy McGeen and Declan Carlile also scored for Wellington.
Game 3 is tonight in Georgetown and you can hear it on CJBQ for Prinzen Ford Sales of Bloomfield beginning at 7:20.
