The Lower Trent Conservation Authority has put a flood watch in place for its watershed.
Forecasts show up to 75 millimetres of mixed precipitation from now through the weekend, including rain, snow or freezing rain and that could cause water levels to rise and flows to increase.
LTC says there is a potential for flooding of access roads, back yards or basements in low lying areas and riverbanks could become slippery and dangerous.
The warning is in effect until at least Monday, April 16.
