The unemployment rate in eastern Ontario, including the Quinte region, remains lower than either the national or provincial rates.
According to Statistics Canada, the unemployment rate in the Kingston/Pembroke region in March was 4.9%. It was 5.2% in March of 2017.
The rate for Ontario was 5.5% last month, while the national rate was 5.8%.
