A 35-year-old Centre Hastings man has been charged after ditching a stolen car Wednesday afternoon.
Shortly after 2:30 p.m., Central Hastings OPP were called to a residence just off Highway 62, where a car was taken.
The suspect who stole the vehicle then decided to call police, stating he needed a tow truck, because the vehicle he allegedly stole, ran out of gas.
The car was located at Foxboro-Stirling Road, near Wallbridge-Loyalist Road, abandoned.
The suspect was found walking a short distance away.
He was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, driving while under suspension, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
He is in court Thursday.
