The Belleville Police Service responded to 37 calls for service between April 1, 2018 at 5 a.m. and April 2, 2018 at 5 a.m.
Arrest on Warrants
On April 1, 2018, at 6 p.m., a motorist was stopped for speeding in Prince Edward County by the OPP. A check revealed that the 41-year-old Prince Edward County man was wanted on outstanding warrants held by the Belleville Police Service. He was escorted to Belleville and held for a bail hearing on April 3, 2018.
Disturbances
On April 1, 2018 at 3:15 p.m., police attended at an east end address regarding a disturbance. Paramedics took a woman to BGH for treatment. Once at the hospital the woman was the subject of another disturbance around 6 p.m. She had left prior to police arrival but had dropped the contents of her purse on the floor. Several items were left behind including a small quantity of cocaine. At 10 p.m., police attended at another disturbance at an apartment building on Dundas Street East. It was the same woman that was involved in the previous two disturbances. The 21-year-old Centre Hastings woman was arrested and lodged in the cells. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance. She will appear in court on May 7, 2018.
