The road closure in South Marysburgh Ward will remain in place until the end of the day Friday.
Maypul Layn was closed on Wednesday after a rock drill belonging to the contractor for the White Pines wind turbine project got bound up in the ground under the road.
The contractor had to dig out the drill.
The road was expected to be re-opened on Thursday evening but the contractor has since informed The County, more time is required to complete road repairs.
