Members of the Loyalist Fencing Club, past and present took part in the Ontario Fencing Championships at the University of Toronto this weekend.
Loyalist head coach Rob McFadden finished with a bronze medal in the Veteran Overall Sabre event. Belleville’s Bill Mason finished 6th overall and first in the Veteran 70+ division.
Holly Tetzlaff of Brighton placed 5th in the Junior Women’s Sabre category. Tetzlaff competed in a tough lineup that included the 2nd and 4th ranked fencers in Canada.
Two Loyalist Fencing Club alumni won medals. Danielle Burghraef earned gold in Junior Women’s Sabre and Hugo Clements took bronze in the Junior Men’s Sabres competition.
