In what is called good news for downtown Belleville, a retirement residence will be built on part of the former Trudeau Motors property on Station Street.
According to a report in the Intelligencer, a developer from Georgetown has purchased the 2 acre section of the property and is in the process of planning for the construction of a 4 storey, 140 unit seniors retirement home.
The cost to build is estimated at $32 million.
The home would be a mix of independent living, assisted living and “memory care” units.
Local real estate broker Jamie Troke was involved in the deal.
