Seven local lifters from the Apollo, Bayside and Victory Barbell Clubs and Adamantium competed at the Ontario Winter Games and two earned gold medals.
Connor Bazilsky of the Victory Club won a gold in the men’s 56 kilo class with a total lift of 385 pounds.
Addison Walker, also of the Victory Club finished first in the women’s 58 kilo class with a total lift of 353 pounds. Bazilsky and Walker will be competing at the Senior Ontario Championships in Toronto later this month.
Also lifting at the Winter Games were Nowl Wallace, Kayla and Elijah Martindale, Caius Allen and Trot Davis. All finished in the top ten of their weightclass.
