The Moira Trojans staged a stunning comeback to beat St. Mary’s of Cobourg 4-3 in overtime to win the COSSA Girls hockey title.
The Trojans rallied from a 3-0 deficit with goals by Brooke Fairs, Kendall Tobobandung, and Sidney Ward. Melanie Young scored the winner with 40 seconds left in overtime. Alexa Hoskin had 3 assists and Lily Messier gets the win in goal. Moira advances to OFSAA in Timmins.
The COSSA boys hockey final was a replay of the Bay of Quinte championship.
The Centre Hastings Centurions advance to the Provincials in Collingwood following a 2-0 victory over St. Theresa. Liam Stoltz and Keegan Hunt scored while Hayden Hammock had the shutout.
Both of these championship tournaments begin March 31st.
