It’s official. The paperwork has been signed and it’s all systems go to create what might become the world’s largest marijuana growing operation and it would be located in Cobourg.
According to Northumberland News, Cannabis Wheaton Income Corp. has signed an agreement with FV Pharma to develop a cannabis cultivation facility inside the former 620,000 square foot Kraft food plant on William Street in Cobourg.
A letter of intent was signed in December.
FV Pharma has the government license to grow marijuana while Cannabis Wheaton is comprised of individual entrepreneurs focusing on investments in the growing legal marijuana business.
When fully built, it’s expected the operation could produce 200 million grams of marijuana a year while employing a significant number of people.
