There is lots of opposition to a developer’s plans to build 25 houses to the south of Gavey and Gardiner Streets in Belleville’s Deerfield Park subdivision in the area of Lowe’s Home Improvement.
Planning staff for the City of Belleville has recommended approval of zoning changes to allow the homes to be built. Andy Geertsma is the agent for several applicants proposing the development.
Several letters in opposition have been written by residents on Gavey and Gardiner Streets.
Some maintain they were told upon buying their homes, that there would be no development to the south.
Belleville’s Planning Advisory Committee meets at 5:30 Monday afternoon.
