(Aaron Crossen lifts at Provincials)
Thirteen lifters from the local “Apollo” and “Victory” barbell clubs competed at the Ontario Masters Weightlifting championships in St. Thomas. And all of them earned medals.
From the Apollo Barbell Club, Nick Stranges, Mike Carroll, Christine Walt, Jo-Ann Moring and Meredith Stranges finished first in their division. Isabelle O’Brien won a silver.
And from the Victory Barbell Club, gold medals were earned by Kolby Parks, Sarah Condon, Amy Caine and Gary Lewis. Winning silver were Will Condon and Pamela Davidson. Aaron Crossen finished third for bronze.
Christine Walt, Jo-Ann Moring, Meredith Stranges, Gary Lewis, Sarah Condon and Pamela Davidson have also qualified to represent Canada at the 2018 Masters Pan-Americans Championships in Gaspe Quebec.
