Although widely predicted by different forecasters, a new high temperature record was not set in the Quinte region yesterday.
Forecasters had predicted highs of 14 degrees, but according to readings taken at CFB Trenton, the mercury only climbed to 9.3 degrees celsius.
That’s balmy for a February 20 but doesn’t break the record of 11.1 degrees set in 1953.
The record high for today’s date, February 21, is 11.7, also set in 1953.
