A special training session for Ontario police officers, regarding the upcoming change in marijuana legislation in July, will be held in the Quinte area.
Public health nurse Kerri Jianopoulos told the Hastings Prince Edward Board of Health Wednesday that the local “Weed Out the Risk” program is hosting it, for the Ministry of Transportation.
She says it’s a training session for officers from across Ontario, providing programs in the secondary schools.
Ten local officers will also be taking the training, and will offer the program in local schools.
The session will be held in the Quinte West council chambers on February 22.
