Belleville police officers had to get involved at Belleville General Hospital’s Emergency Department early last night.
An angry drunk man threatened nurses and threw a punch at a doctor during an examination around 7 o’clock last night.
Police arrested a 74-year-old Belleville man for his own protection and issued him a ticket for being intoxicated in a public place.
No one was injured.
Meanwhile, one of the drivers involved in a three vehicle collision near downtown Belleville late yesterday morning had to be taken to Belleville General Hospital for treatment.
The collision occurred on Dundas East at Church Street at about 11:30.
Two vehicles had to be towed away. The injuries were minor in nature.
An investigation continues.
