The former owner of Strathcona Energy in Belleville is facing charges, after the Town of Kapuskasing was allegedly defrauded out of $800,000.
Karl Hollett, who owned Strathcona Energy, at 250 Sidney Street in Belleville, along with another man have been charged in the investigation.
The OPP Anti-Rackets Branch, the OPP Aviation Services and James Bay OPP began the investigation last June.
The investigation revealed between September 2014 and February 2015, a man from Kapuskasing, along with the owner of a solar power company allegedly defrauded the town.
Last March, Quinte News learned that Strathcona, a sister company Fath PV Tech of Napanee and its owners had been named in numerous legal documents requesting financial compensation.
Strathcona Energy made solar panels.
Fifty-four-year-old Karl Hollett and 64-year-old Yvan Brousseau (former Kapuskasing CAO) have been charged in the investigation.
They appear in court March 19th.
