There is a good feeling when it comes to physician recruitment in Quinte West.
Wendy Warner appeared in front of council on Monday evening and says they are off to a great start and she is optimistic.
Warner told council the Physician Recruitment Committee has booths booked at job fairs from now until the end of the year.
At a recent job fair at McMaster they managed to collect 43 physicians’ names and there was vested interest in the Quinte West region by 25 of those individuals.
The goal for Warner is to have those who grew up in the region who want to become doctors and physicians return to the area to work upon completion of their schooling.
Mayor Jim Harrison says right now they will take any person who can work as a health care specialist in this area.
He says there are a number of spaces to fill and they are focused on what they need and where they need to go.
