The Wellington Dukes and Trenton Golden Hawks had a mid week home game last night with similar results. A one goal loss.
In Wellington a third period goal by Mitchell Mendonca wasn’t enough as the Dukes dropped a 4-3 decision to Newmarket. Ben Evans and Jeff Burridge also scored for the Dukes who host Markham tomorrow night at 7:30.
The Royals were in Trenton last night where they overcame a 4-0 deficit to beat the Golden Hawks 6-5. Bain Cunningham scored the winner with under 3 minutes to play in regulation. G-Hawks forward Michael Silveri laments the blown lead.
Silveri says don’t blame goaltender Carson Poulin.
Tiger McDonald and Gage Stephney led Trenton with a goal and two assists. The Golden Hawks are off until Tuesday when they host Pickering in a make-up game.
In Junior “C” Hockey tonight, the Picton Pirates are home to the Port Hope Panthers at 7:30.
