The Military Family Resource Centre at CFB Trenton is one of 32 MFRCs across the country benefiting from a boost in government funding.
The latest federal defence policy, “Strong, Secure and Engaged” is committing $6 million to MFRCs across Canada to modernize and enhance the services they offer.
The local branch’s mission is to “facilitate community-based services that enrich, strengthen and enhance the quality of life for local military families” and a portion of the cash coming locally will do just that.
The Trenton MFRC will increase spending into the Special Needs Inclusion Program, Child and Youth Mental Health Services and supports, with a focus on resiliency and Casual Child Care, to meet the demands of modern military families.
