A Warkworth-area man has received support from Trent Hills Council to produce marijuana on his property.
Mike Perricone explained to council early last week that he is considering two options. One is to set up a greenhouse on his 107-acre property or grow the plants in a secure, fenced-in outdoor area.
If that option isn’t viable, Perricone says another plan would be to provide a nursery and send seeds and seedlings to other licensed producers for growing.
Council members reacted positively to Perricone’s proposal and supported a staff recommendation to prepare a report outlining the zoning regulations associated with the production of marijuana.
Perricone currently lives in Toronto, but is in the process of moving back to the community with his family.
