The preliminary hearing in the case of a Belleville tattoo artist charged with multiple sex-related offenses will continue next month.
The hearing against 47-year-old Kenneth Wayne Melvin was scheduled for two days but has now been scheduled for a third day on February 23.
Another charge against Melvin was dropped yesterday (Friday), leaving a total of 44 counts.
There are 16 complainants involved and the charges include sexual assault and committing an indecent act, among others.
Evidence at a preliminary hearing cannot be published. Such hearings are held to determine if there is enough evidence to proceed to a criminal trial, or not.
Melvin had operated Skin Graphix Tattooing and Piercing in Belleville’s east end.
