The Wellington Dukes are perfect in 2018.
Mitch Mendonca scored twice, Zac Uens had a goal and 2 assists and Jonah Capriotti turned aside 35 shots as the Dukes clipped the Cobourg Cougars 5-2. Welllington led 3-0 after the second but coach John Druce says they got too comfortable with the lead.
Capriotti drew praise from his coach.
Ben Evans and Teddy McGeen also scored for Wellington against Druce’s former team.
Wellington has won 4 in a row They travel to Newmarket Thursday night (7:20 on CJBQ) then host Kingston on Friday.
The Golden Hawks were off. They’re home to Oakville on Wednesday.
