Chief R Don Maracle says 2018 will be about ensuring Ontario gets its fair share.
As we continue to look ahead to the new year, we reached out to the newly re-elected Band Council Chief.
Maracle says he will be meeting with officials from the Trudeau government to discuss a systemic problem with funding for First Nations.
He says that causes an imbalance.
He adds that the majority of the Ontario funding is going to the northern portion of the province, leaving the south, which includes the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte, with less.
