The Hastings Prince Edward Board of Health is faced with the prospect of a second year of a budget freeze.
Following Wednesday’s board meeting, Medical Officer of Health Dr. Ian Gemmell said the health unit will work within the budget and try to not cut services.
He pointed to a report last year calling for the province’s 36 health units to be cut to 14, which he says may depend on what happens in the upcoming provincial election.
Maureen Piercy was re-elected chair of the board of health, with Tweed Mayor Jo-Anne Albert as vice-chair.
