Christmas is known as ‘the giving season’ and a local business has provided a generous donation in that spirit to Gleaners Food Bank.
Hanley Corporation, on behalf of all of the Belleville Tim Hortons, presented a cheque for $10,000 to Gleaners.
Operations Manager for Hanley Corporation Sean Duncan says the Tim Hortons shops are glad to contribute to Gleaners and help people in need at this time of year.
Susanne Quinlan, Director of Operations at Gleaners, says she is thankful for the support and tells Quinte News what they are planning to accomplish with the money.
Quinlan adds the money will also help support the food bank’s ability to buy more food and feed people who are less fortunate during the holiday season and all through the year.
Quinlan encourages people to support the food bank with so little time remaining before Christmas.
