Belleville Mayor Taso Christopher listed a number of projects the city completed as he looked back on 2017, which marks the city’s 200th birthday.
He mentioned The Casino providing money that goes to infrastructure and other items, the coming of the Belleville Senators employing 25 to 30 full-time workers and about 200 part-time.
Mayor Christopher says a great deal of money was spent on infrastructure but he points to the bay bridge overpass as an item with lots of federal and provincial funding.
Commenting on the empty businesses in the city centre the mayor said this was not unusual in many cities.
